ParentPicks: Top Newborn Essentials
Categories: Baby essentials, Mommy musts
ParentDish readers are just filled with baby wisdom. And based on your comments, if only one tip should be stamped on our brains forever and ever, it should be to SWADDLE YOUR NEWBORN LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW.
Thank you for that pertinent information. (Personally, I'm in full agreement.)
However, swaddling devices weren't the only products mentioned. Take a gander at your ParentPicks Top Newborn Essentials.

I literally found myself nodding and thinking "check, check, check" - this is really a great list of essentials - even if you don't get some of these, you'll wish you did or could.

The Miracle Blanket and The Happiest Baby on the Block are definite must-haves. You can get a discount code for the Miracle Blanket at my blog http://hollytriedit.blogspot.com/2008/01/discounts-on-miracle-blanket.html
I will be having a contest to win a free Miracle Blanket, too. So watch for it in the next couple days.

I have a great idea on designing my future baby boy's room with Bears playing golf, but I can't the right web site, or any store that may carry this type of theme "Bears Golfing". Anyone out there planning a to have a baby or is having a baby knows of good areas to look?

I think the wipe warmer is great for the winter months when the wipes get really cold. It warms it up so it is not shockingly cold on the baby's bottom.
Another FUN yet practical and affordable product is www.BazzleBaby.com. They have cool bibs that look like bandanas, big bibs and burpers in really cool styles for boys and girls. PLUS, they come up high enough on the neck for those dribbly babies who get neck rash. The burpers come in camouflage and hot rods for dads too!

An essential item would be a baby rectal thermometer to take their temperature when they are sick

My must have was the USA made rattles & the radian 80 carseat
I bought from http://safebabiesplus.com/main.sc .
The carseat fits so well in my car especially when you have other kids that need to fit in the car too. I now have a lot of room for other people to sit & another carseat & I am driving a small toyota car.

I am 54 years old and I just adopted a baby - I also have a 23 year old. The wiper warmer was one of the best gifts I received, I wish I had one when my older daughter was a baby.

The Miracle Blanket and "Happiest Baby on the Block" saved our lives. We had a very colicky newborn who needed both to be happy. I would also include a white noise machine on the list. Even if you don't have a colicky baby, all three of these items will help your little one get settled for sleep!

Found some great muslin swaddle blankets at www.grandpasbabystuff.com. They were quick shipping and the more you wash them, the softer they get! Definite must have.
